ATHLETIC CHAMPIONSHIPS (P.A.) Dunedin, March 9.' Four records were broken and two more were equalled at the New Zealand junior and women's athletic championships hel l at Dunedin yesterday. B. Singe (Auckland), with a throw of 109 ft. 6in. in the women’s discus throw, beat the record by Ift. 2Hn.; T. Ebbett (Wellington) won the mile walk in 7min. 7 3-ssec., clipping 5 3-ssec. off the record; D. Dephoff (Canterbury) beat the junior broad jump record by 2 l-Bin„ and K. Forsythe (Hawke's Bay) beat, the same record by Sin. In the 220yds. junior, K. Forsythe bettered the record by l-ssec. and K. Plunkett (Canterbury) reduced it by a further 2-ssec Miss N. Gourley (Canterbury) equalled her own record of 12 l-ssec. in the 80 metres hurdles, and Miss I. J. Hunt (Auckland) and Miss R. Dowman (Auckland) equalled the record of 8 4-ssec. in the 75 yards events.
