EIGHT-OAR ROWING
HEAD-OF-THE RIVER RACE PERSONNEL OF RIVAL CREWS Senior and junior eight-oar boat races will be held on the Wanganui River this afternoon. The senior crews will contest the “head-of-the-river” title over a two-mile course and the junior event will be over one and a-half miles. Hi each instance the finishing point will be at Cal ver’s corner. The winning senior eight will represent the Wanganui Rowing Association in the interprovincial eights at Wellington on March 23. I The senior race to-day is timed to i begin at 3.15 p.m , and the junior at 3.45 p.m. The personnel of the rival crews is as follows: SENIOR EIGHTS Union Boat Club: E. Crutchley (str.), J. Coats, H. Benge, D. Crabb, IL Halkett, R. Crombie, C. R. Butters, J. Buller (bow). Wanganui Club: M. Northover, K. A. Staton, L. Northover, H. S. Clark, Anderson, Byers, M. R. Breed, G. Leighton-Jones. Aramoho Club: J. Schneider (str.), T. Preater, J. Brown, D. Simonson, M. James, W. Carroll, A. McNicol, D. Morrison (bow). JUNIOR EIGHTS Wanganui Club: Foster, Gould, Lunnon, Nancarrow, Ryan, Delves, Ross and Handley. Union: R. Smith, I. Rolls J. Sheppard, J. Minnell, C. Tasker, B. Jones, G. Jones and A. Paul. Aramoho: E. Johnson (str.), W. Davidson, R. Kendrick, H. Springer, F. Coker, J. Tate, L. Managh, L. Ahern (bow).
