ACCLAIMEDJN MADRID ATTACK ON RUSSIA Recd. 6 p.m. Madrid, March 7. Crowds chanted: “Franco, Franco— Franco, yes; Russia, no,” as the CauI dillo drove to open new rooms in the war museum. His car and the motorcycle guards were almost engulfed as he passed through the Plaza Cibeles with his arm raised in a Fascist-like Falange salute. General Franco, in an impromptu spec?/, cttr.cked Russia. He did not mention the recent British-American-French declaration against his regime. He said: “Civil war taught the failure of Liberalism. We are orientating our policy to make a better social justice as a basis of tiie people’s prosperity. We are right. God is with us; God won’t allow barbarism and brutality to reign over us.”

Franco attacked Marxism as “absurd Russian tyranny.” He said Soain was not the property of the Right Wing or the army, but the whole community. The Spanish Embassy in Paris stated that all measures taken by Spain against France were directly reciprocal to the French measures taken after the decision to close the frontier. None of the Spanish measures would ero beyond actions taken by the French. WOMEN AWAIT TRIAL

The Spanish women, Maria Teresa Toralppe, Naranda, and Isabel Sanz Toledana, are awaiting trial on unspecified charges in Ventas prison. A third woman, Mercedes Gomez Otero, has been sentenced to 30 years’ imprisonment.
