LATE MR. B. N. T. BLAKE

WANGANUI EDUCATION BOARD’S TRIBUTE “That this board place on record its deep sense of the loss sustained in the cealh of Mr. B. N. T. Blake, late senior Inspector of schools in the Wanganui district, who, during his period of service with the board, was ever ready to give of his best in the interests of the board, the teachers and children alike.”

This resolution was moved by the chairman. Mr. E. F. Hemingway 'Patea), at the monthly meeting of the Wanganui Education Board. It was carried in silence, members standing as a mark o£ respect to Mr. Blake’s memory. “By the death of Mr. Blake, members have lost a good friend who was at all times ready to give them the benefit of his wide knowledge and his experience in education matters,” said the chairman. “O£ a kindly and sympathetic nature, he was loved by all and particularly by the children ol the board’s district.

“From my experience of him, I can cordially re-echo the words of a clergyman, who, when speaking of him to me said; “B. N. T. Blake was the best man I ever met.’ I regarded his friendship as something beyond all value. It is to be regretted tha» he was not spared to enjoy the leisure he had so well and faithfully earned. The hearts of us all will go out to Mrs. Blake and the family In the irreparable loss they have sustained.”
