HUNTERVILLE NEWS
LOCAL MATERNITY HOSPITAL TO REOPEN (0.C.) Hunterville, Jan. 15. It is understood that negotiations between the owners of the Whare Ora Hospital property and the Wanganui Hospital Board have been satisfactorily concluded and that the board will be opening the hospital for maternity cases next week. The hospital was closed before Christmas. WEDNESDAY CLOSING
In addition to bakers the local garages will not be falling in with the Wednesday closing proposal, but will be open all day on that day. The work shops will be closed on Saturdays but the garages will be open for other business. WELCOMED HOME
A large crowd attended at the Hunterville railway station last evening to welcome home Cpl. I. Aitken and Pte. T. Watkins after service overseas. There were no formalities but a welcome home function will be held in the near future. Also returned on the same transport were J. Cousins (Sandon Block), who was met by his wife in Wellington, and F. Bartlett (Silverhope), who was met by his wife in Palmerston North.
