TRIBUTE TO MR. FRASER
(Official Correspondent N.Z.E,F.) London. Jan. 14. In her syndicated column “My Day,” Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt is telling the daily story of the General Assembly now in session as she sees it from her place in th© United States delegation. To-night she tells how she seconded Mr. Fraser’s nomination as chairman of the Social, Cultural and Humanitarian Committee. She adds: “I have been to New Zealand. I know Mr. Fraser and I feel he will he a chairman who will bring his deep interest and long experience to the work of this committee. New Zealand is a small country, although it is part of the British Empire. It knew deep anxiety and fear of invasion by the Japanese during the war. Its people have tried many social experiments and I think AJr. Fraser as chairman will he able to bring to the new world problems a point of view which can combine the feelings of the smaller nations with those of the larger ones.”
