WORLD’S NEW CAR
REAR ENGINE AND A PLASTIC BODY
Recd. 8 p.m. New York, Jan.. 9 Mr. William Stout, the Graham Paiga Motors’ consulting engineer, declared that within two years all major American car manufacturers will be producing rear engine, plastic body models.
Mr. Stout claimed that the rear engine ghes better braking trac> tlq i, easier steering and smoother riding. Plastics would halve the body weight, while providing 500 per cent, more impact strength. The fitting of the engine at the rear would give an average car a floor space of 78 inches wide and 138 inches long.
