UNITED FIRE BRIGADE
(. GISBORNE PREPARES FOR 7 ' ANNUAL EVENT (P.A.) Gisborne, Jan. 9. Hotels are being fully booked and arrangements are in hand to accommodate privately up to 500 delegates and visitors during the annual conference and demonstration of the United Fire Brigades’ Association, to be held in Gisborne from March 6 to March 14. The billeting committee is confident of success in an appeal to residents.
It is reported that finance for the staging of the conference and the demonstration is already almost assured, business people having made substantial contributions to the prize fund for an art union, from which the bulk of the money required will be available.
