N.Z. REPRESENTATIVE AT DUNTROON

A CHANGE TO BE MADE (P.A.) Wellington, Jan. 8. It was announced to-day by the Minister of Defence, Mr. Jones that Captain (temp, major) W. R. K. Morrison is to replace Major R. B. Dawson on the instructional staff at the Royal Military College, Duntroon, Australia.

Mr. Jones said that Duntroon was a training ground for officers of the New Zealand regular forces, and that 10 years ago it had been decided in agreement with the Australian Government, to provide New Zealand officer graduates on Ihe instructional staff at the college. By that means the New Zealand Government felt it could keep in closest touch with the training methods of the college, and it also provided that prospective New Zealand staff officers received first hand instruction in military administration as it affected the New Zealand military forces. The policy was to relieve the officer detached for duty at. the college every three years. Captain Morrison had served overseas with the 2nd. N.Z.E.F. for three years and was twice wounded. He was selected to undergo a course at. the Middle East staff college, Haifa, and subsequently was appointed to General Auchin leek’s staff. Latterly he has been general staff ofl t, second grade, at Army Headquarters, Wellington.
