CHILD DROWNED IN SCHOOL BATHS
. Christchurch, Jan. 8. I atricia Marie Familton, aged about 11, oi Lyttelton, was drowned accidentally in the Beckenham School baths early this evening. She was stying with relations in Christchurch, and went to the baths with an eight-year-old cousin.
At the time of the accident the two children were the only persons in the water. A schoolboy saw one girl in difficulties and dived in and dragged her to the side. Artificial respiration was attempted by a police constable, but the child was dead when a doctor arrived.
