Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Pritchard, Ingest: e Street, are spending the Christmas holidays in Napier. Miss V. Craig, Victoria Avenue, left yesterday for a visit to Wellington.

Mr.’. J. G. Denniston left Wanganui last week for Gisborne, where she will in future reside.

Miss D. Soeberg, Campbell Stieet, is spending Christmas and New Year with her sister, Mrs. D. Dryden, Waverley.

Mrs. P. S. Whitlock and Mi. s Wilton, Wanganui, are visiting Rotorua.

Mrs. W. G. Lewis, No. 2 Line, has returned from Tauranga. Mrs. N. Hammond, Liffiton Street, Miss Margaret Duncan, Durie Hill, and Mrs. Keith Sim, of Waipukurau, spent Christmas Day at Ohingaiti.

Mrs. A. Miller, Dublin Street, leaves this week for a holiday in Napier.

Mrs. John Patterson and family, Koromiko Road, have left for a visit to Auckland. Mrs. E. Lane, Mission Bay, Auckland, and Mrs. R. McLellan, of Wellington, are visiting their mother, Mrs. J. T. Werry, St. John’s Hill. Mrs. C. S. Jeffs, Nelson Street, has as her guests, Mr. and Mrs. J. Jeffs, Wellington, and Mr and Mrs Nicholas, Eltharn. ENGAGEMENTS Smith—Green.— The engagement is announced of Patsy Martha, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Green, of Rata, to George Leonard, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Smith, of Norse wood. Campbell—Brownlie: A Christmastide engagement announced is that of Joy Allana, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Campbell, Mangamahu, to Richard Arthur, second son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Brownlie, Brunswick. HITHER AND THITHER Returned From Italy Mrs. June Potter, who has been on the Y.W.C.A. War Service staff in Italy, returned to New Zealand on the Mooltan with her husband last week, and is staying with her mother, Mrs. Ross Campion, Selwyn Street. Mrs. Potter has keen on the Y.W.C.A. staff for 18 months and has served for most of that time in Caseria and in Amalfi. Just before leaving Italy Mrs. Potter had had 10 days’ leave and took the opportunity of a trip through Venice, the and the Dolomite country, returning through Milan and the Adriatic coast to Rome and Naples. Mrs. Potter previously worked on the ttaff of the Student ‘Christian Movement. Her husband, Mr. Basil Potter, has been working for the Y.M.C.A. overseas. They leave this week for Auckland.
