SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES UNITED OLD BOYS BEAT MARIST Technical Old Boys secured an outright win against. Wanganui when the matches under the control of the Wanganui Cricket Association, begun a week ago, were concluded in line weather on Saturday afternoon. On the No. 2 wicket, United Old Boys were successful in beating Marist on the first, innings. Marist, which had 276 for nine al r slumps on the first day against United Old Boys, resumed its innings with the two not out. batsmen, L. Davies, 94, and H. M. Fl. Salmon. 56. Davies only added one run to his total and went out. to Gee. l.b.w. Salmon reached 63, being unbeaten. The side were all out lor 295. H. F. Low. tour for 55, and J. H. Feits, four for 71, were the most successful bowlers for United Old Boys. Set a big task, United Old Boys opened with Sewell and Felts, and bright batting was seen from the outset. So prolific was their run-getting that the first wicket did not fall until 107 runs had been collected. Felts being bowled by Crafar when his score was 33. He hit five fours. Sewell was run out at 68. He hit 12 fours. Dyhrberg 68, and L. Vasta, not out 68, and Robertson, not out 31, all gave sound displays. At stumps United Old Boys had 299 for the loss of five wickets. B. Greener, two for 30, and S. Crafar, two for 50, did best with the ball for Marist.

In trying to overtake Technical Old Boys’ first innings score of 238, Wanganui were routed by the bowlers of the rival eleven, particularly in their fir.-t innings, when they were all out for 61.
