INCIDENCE OF CANCER
APPARENTLY DIMINISHING (P.A.) Dunedin, Dec. 19. "It looks as though the incidence of cancer is diminishing,” stated Sir Lindo Ferguson at the annual meeting of the Otago-Southland division of the Cancel- Campaign Society. The report stated that, since 1930 the figures of the annual number of cancer patients had remained static at 150 to 160 Sir Lindo Ferguson pointed out that many more people were reporting to the clinic and since the population was larger and also older, one would expect cancer figures to grow. He thought the position distinctly hopeful.
