Nomads v. School A cricket match between the Nomads and the first eleven of the Wanganui Collegiate School will be played on the Collegiate ground to-day. The match will begin at 10.30. Child Injured Struck by a lorry late yesterday afternoon at the intersection of Liverpool and Pitt Streets, a Maori child, Wattie Lemon, aged 5, suffered head injuries. She was taken to the Wanganui Hospital by the Free Ambulance. Her condition last night was reported to be serious. High Winds Last Month Last month was particularly windy on the west coast of the North Island. In the Bulls district high winds from west-north-west to north-west were reecorded on 23 days, generally continuing all night. These figures are from meteorological data compiled by Mr. K. W. Dalrymple, Parewanui, who states that on eight of those days the wind reached gale force. In February. 1940, gales were registered on eight occasions and last month was the first since then that so much wind had been experienced in the district.
