CRITICISM OF GOVERNMENTS

Sir, —I must apologise to “A.G.W.” for taking him seriously and for not realising he just wanted to play. However, in his first letter he did say “Given the power, Mr. J. A. Lee would close some (if not all) of our churches to-morrow.” Quite a playful remark, no doubt, and I am sure Mr. Lee would appreciate the joke to the full. A lot of criticism of ruling Governments is always the fashion and unless tangled up with fear propaganda is all to the good. The fact that I mistook “A.G W.’s” letter for a jolly good dose of the latter is regretted except that it is gratifying to know one’s “artillery,” defensive or otherwise, is in good order.—l am, etc., “1.R.L.8.” Wanganui, Dec. 4, 1945.
