HUNDREDTH BIRTHDAY
MRS. SARAH HEAPPEY, FORMERLY QF HALCOMBE
(P.A.) New Plymouth, Nov. 25 Mrs. Sarah Heappey, of Now Plymouth. celebrated her 100th birthday yesterday. She has an excellent memory and has retained her faculties remarkably well. Her eyesight has, however, become very weak during the past few years.
Born in London in 1845, Mrs. Heappey was married at Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, 74 years ago. With her husband, who died 56 years ago, and three children, she Jett England in 1875 for New Zealand. Mrs. Heappey is the only surviving member of the pioneers who settled on the Manchester Block, Halcombe.
