N.Z. NAVAL ATTACHE AT WASHINGTON

ARRIVAL IN DOMINION (P.A.) Auckland, Nov. 22. After serving two years as New Zealand Naval Attache at Washington, Lieut.-Commander B. T. Giles, R.N.Z.N.V.R., returned by flying-boat from Sydney. Mrs. Giles and their two children, who were also in Washington, returned to New Zealand earlier.

Representing the Royal New Zealand Navy on the Combined Chiefs of Staff, Committee at Washington, Lieut.-Commander Giles spoke with enthusiasm of the assistance and cooperation given him by members of the United States Services. He said he had been greatly impressed by this feature of his tour of duty, and the United States authorities had done everything that could be desired in the way of giving lull co-operation, and also in helping such important matters as the making of technical information available. Lieut.-Commander Giles, who was formerly in Wellington in business, will continue his journey to Wellington to report to the Chief of the Naval Staff, Commodore Faulkner.
