CLEAN-UP WEEK. yITH the approach of summer weather it is desirable that citizens make a special effort to remove from their properties all rubbish which may harbour rats, flies and other pests. To assist in this objective, the City Council has declared n “Clean-up Week,” commencing on Monday, November 26. During that week the ordinary rubbish collection vehicles will be supplemented by qther lorries. These vehicles will call on the normal rubbish collection days for each ction of the City. Householders are asked to place all extra rubbish (tins, Iron, bottles, etc.) in suitable containers or in bundl s which can be conveniently lifted by the collectors. Wanganui, on the 20th day of November. 1945. a Resolution (Intended to operate as a Special Order) was duly nassed:— TO raise a loan of Eight thousand five hundred pounds (£8500) to be known as “Housing Loan. 1945,” for the purpose of erecting tv.o blocks of flats, including the laying out of grounds upon certain lands situate in the City of Wanganui and vested in The Mayor, Councillors and Citizens of the City of Wanganui.
