GRATUITY PAYMENTS

THE R.S.A. SATISFIED Wellington. Nov. 20 In an official statement to-night the New Zealand R.S.A. expresses its complete satisfaction with the mam provisions of the gratuity payment, it states that some minor points win need clarification and that the Government has indicated its willingness to discuss any of these points with the “it is realised ’ the statement continues. “that the checking of some 327,000 claims and the work associated with the payment of th<? gratuity involve a gigantic task and it is inevitable that there would be some delay in the actual date of payment. The terms of the payment are wholly satisfactory to the association and the R.S.A. recommends the ex-serviceman and ex-serv-ice woman to take the advice of the Minister of Finance and leave his or her monev in a special account as long as possible, thus taking advantage of the extra bonus and inso doing benefit th? Nov. 21 “The Government s decision regarding gratuity payments is welcomed with the greatest enthusiasm by members of the association.” said Mr. E. L. Thwaites. Dominion president of the 2nd N.Z.E.F.
