DON’T WANT TO GO HOME
MEN WHO LEFT THE ORION ENGLISH PORT OFFICER’S VIEW Recd. 8 p.m. London, Nov. 16, The principal sea transport officer at Southampton asserted that the Australian and New Zealand airmen who walked off the Orion did so because they definitely did not want to return home, says the "Daily Telegraph.” The officer said most of the men did not want to be demobilised. They had wives, sweethearts and pay here. The trouble had happened before and would happen again. The "Telegraph" says it is considered a psychological error to crowd Empire officers and troops into accommodation on the assumption that they are ready to put up with any conditions to get home. The Orion may re-enter the service in eight to nine days.
