SUSPENDED AND EVICTED CAC.'.z;.) FROM HIS ROOM BY THE POLICE Recd. 6 p.m. Brisbane, Nov. 16 Two detectives ejected Mr. J. F. Barnes from hij room at the lodge in Parliament House ground last night. Shortly after 11 p.m., the Sergeant at Arms, accompanied by two detectives, went to the room occupied by Mr. Barnes with an eviction order signed by lhe Speaker. Mr. Barnes said: “You can’t do this; you will have to throw me out." The detectives picked him up and carried him outside Parliament House gates. When a Press photographer protested that he had not got a good picture of the eviction, Mr. Barnes said, “that’s okay; we will repeat the performance." The two detectives picked Barnes up and carried him through lhe gates again, feet first. For the second occasion this session and the seventh time, Mr. J. F. Barnes (Independent Labour), has been suspended in the Queensland Parliament, stated an earlier message. Mr. Barnes is known as the “Bundaberg Bombshell." The Premier, Mi. Cooper, moved that the suspension be for a fortnight without pay, and this was carried by 46 votes to 3. Among those voting in favour were Mr. Barnes's brother, Mr. L. J. Baines (Independent Labour). While the division was being taken Mr. Barnes referred to the Speaker, the Chairman of Committees, and the Deputy-Premier as "three of ths biggest crooks in the Sta e." He called the Government members “a lot of dills." Brisbane, Nov. 14 “The police will have to carry me out before I wil| leave my room," said Mr. Barne , who, after having been suspended from Parliament without pay, forced an entry io his room in the lodge in Parliament grounds for the second night in succession, said a fu tiier message. After Mr. Barnes had forced his way into the lodge on Tuesday night new lack. were fitted to two of the doors of his room, nut these did not slop him. He inspected them during the afternoon, and, returning last nigh , forced open the door to the bedroom he had been occupying.
