WANGANUI CITY COUNCIL BILLETING OF ROYAL NAVY PERSONNEL 'T'HE Soldiers’ Reception and Entertainment Committee of the Council desires to appeal to the citizens to provide hospitality for approximately 40 officers and men from units of H.M. Royal Navy whom it is proposed shall visit the City for 2 or 3 days between the 27th instant and the 4th December next. Enquiry has elicited that, prior to leaving their ships, the visiting personnel will be supplied with ration coupons in respect of foodstuffs. Would those who are willing to cooperate in this matter kindly notify the office of the undersigned not later than the 21st instant, stating in all cases the number of men they would wish to accommodate and giving alsu their places of residence. TV"OTICE is hereby given that with the return of a large number of motor vehicles to normal traffic it ta intended to enforce the time limits for car parking in Victoria Avenue and adjacent streets in accordance with the parking signs erected in sueh streets. Foi- the information of motorists, the parking signs referred to consist of lemon-yellow coloured plates bearing in the top portion the letter “P.” The numerals in the lower portion of the sign indicate in minutes the maximum time for which continuous parking Is allowed. The letters N.P. represent the words “No Parking.” Traffic Inspectors will take the necessary action against motorists who park cars for a longer period | than is indicated by the signs (Th» time restrictions shall not apnly between the hours of 6 p.m. and 8 a.m ).
