PRINCE BECOMES COMMONER Recd. 8 p.m. New York, .Nov. 13. General Prince Tsunenori Kaya, cousin of Emperor Hirohito, has announced his intention to become a commoner. Lieutenant-General Iwane Matsul, who led the Japanese in the China war’s first bloody phase, has relinquished his rank to become a Buddhist monk at the Tokio Monastery, where he is reported to pass, the time consoling the souls of Japanese soldiers who fought under him. Matsui is on China’s war criminals’ list.
