ARMY GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP Recd. 1.30 p.m. Rome, Nov. 12 Captain Brian Silk, of Wanganui, New Zealand amateur golf champion in 1934 and 1937, led the field at the end of the first day’s play tn the Army open golf championship, held at a Rome club. Silk was three strokes ahead of his nearest rival, tne Essex professional, Sergeant A Gowers.
