AVONDALE FIELDS

ELLERSLIE PROSPECTS (Special.) Auckland, Nov. 9. The Avondale Jockey Club’s second spring meeting at Ellerslie to-morrow may provide eleven races, as three events are likely to be divided, these being the Apprentices' Handicap, the Tbi'be Kings Hack, and the Avondale Stakes. The going promises to be hard and fast. Among the fancied lot in the King George Handicap are Lou Rosa, the Representative-Batai bracket, Swift Quarry, Orakau, Fortune's Smile, Chung Chong, Corot and Beau Dink, while Dunbar is the sole visitor engaged. Of this lot Chung Chong has been working very freely. On the other hand Broiedame, who went a great race for second in the Mitchelson Cup, has been sore off and on. but she will run well if she hits out all right on the day. It is an open race. Competition in the Electric Handicap may be keen, with good prospects held by Sweet Biscuit, Black Beret. My Bonnie, Verdant, Olga’s Pal and the three-year-olds King’s Pride and Black Ace. Nawab and Royal Master may fight out the Members' Handicap and the Avondale Stakes divisions may be captured by the Welcome Stakes division winners, Beau le Havre and Regal Praise.
