In the House of Representatives toSW/’t the War Pensions Amendment Bill was read a second time, put through all stages, and passed, the Minister in charge of war pensions, Mr. Jones, explaining that it brought the war veterans' allowances into line with the recent increase's in social security benefits. The Greymouth Harbour Board Amendment Bill and the Land Transfer (Foreign Governments) Bill were both read a second time and put through the remaining stages and passed. The Evidence Amendment Bill ; .I EO I Y? S YH!, through all stages and passed. Six Bills in all, were passed by the House during the evening.
