SHOTS FIRED IN SYDNEY
MAN’S STRUGGLE WITH POLICE Recd 10.45 p.m. Sydney, Nov. 8. When detectives attempted to arrest a man in Sydney this afternoon, two men and a detective-sergeant were shot. During the struggle the police drew guns on the man, who was trying to escape and in the shooting the detective-sergeant was shot through a hand. Two men in the crowd which gathered, were also shot, one in a leg and the other tn an arm. A bullet passed through the dress of a girl bystander and several bullets hit nearby shops and caused a scatter among the huge crowd.
The man was later arrested. No one wftunded appeared to be seriously hurt.
