TYRE INDUSTRY
GOODYEAR'S POSITION. Since the granting of licences to manufacture motor tyres in the Dominion, numerous inquiries from both the motor trade and motorists have been received regarding the future of his company’s products in New Zealand, stated Mr. F. H. Whatley, managing director of the Goodyear Tyre and Rubber Co. of New Zealand Ltd. Mr. Whatley confirmed the statement made by an official of the Dunlop Company that Goodyear tyres will be manufactured in the Dunlop plant. Each company will employ its own methods and Goodyear tyres will be made strictly to their own specifications, utilising all the technical skill and benefits of Goodyear’s vast Research Organisation.
