RELEASES OF NAVAL PERSONNEL
DEPENDENT ON RETURN TO NEW ZEALAND

oil*'err end ratings have been released from the R.N.Z.N., said the Minister of Defence to-day. It had not '.•een possible to effect releases on a greater scale because of Ihe work involved in the “paying off” and restoring of H.M.N.Z. ships and establishments, the Minister added. In
addition, repatriation ol' personnel had not yet been on any great scale. There were at present 371 S oliiceis and ratings serving in the Royal Navy. The rate al which the demobilisation of the R.N.Z.N. could be effected was primarily dep?ndcnt on the rate al. which personnel were returned to New Zealand from loan service |vilh the Royal Navy.
