STANDARDS SET FOR DRUG PENICILLIN
(P.A.) Wellington, Sept. 20. Standards required for the drug penicillin and for any preparation eontaini-.ig penicillin are set out. in the Sales of Food and Drugs Amending Regulations, 1945. No. 3 appearing in to-night’s Gazette. The regulations also provide for a sterility test of penicillin, a safety test, a standard of nolcncy and for labelling. Provision is also made for th.? addition of soluble ‘gcch.m-ine to ice cream and ices in a quantity not exceeding H ounces to 100 gallons of ice cream mix or ice.
