Mr. C. H. Walker, Makirikiri, is an inmate of a Wanganui private hospital.

Mr. R. G. Taiboys has been appointed to represent the Wanganui Hospital Board at the conference today of the Wanganui Regional Planning Council. Private L. Muller, who was taken prisoner while on garrison duty on Ocean Island, has been repatriated after being in a Japanese prison camp at Osaka. He is a nephew of Mr. and Mrs. E, R. Norman, Wanganui. His parents reside at Pukeuri Junction, near Oamaru. Private Muller was educated at the Junction School.

Inspector J. A. Dempsey, who has been in charge of the Wanganui police district since November, 19.39, has been transferred to Wellington. Inspector Dempsey, who succeeded Superintendent J. Lander, will be replaced in Wanganui by Inspector L. R. Capp, formerly senior sergeant in Wanganui. Mr. R. A. Pepperell, stationmaster at Aramoho for the past two years, has been transferred to Wellington, where he will be in charge of the parcels office at Wellington station. He leaves this morning. Mr. Pepperell’s successor at Aramoho will be Mr. w. E. Weenick, Hastings. He is expected to arrive at Wanganui next Wednesday. Messrs. B. Hobday, Feilding, and J. E. Lewis, Palmerston North, were elected life members of the New Zealand Professional Photographers'. Association at the annual conference yesterday. The president, Mr. M. L. Lampe, said that Mr. Hobday had been largely responsible tor founding the association. There are only three life members, the other being'Mr. H. E. Gaze, Hamilton, who is patron of the association.
