The comparison is worth considering 1 — Self-placed 17,289 With pre-service employer . .. .18,81(1 Placed by Rehabilitation Dept. 14,090 Returned to own farm . . 1,466 Returned to own business . 2,123 Acquired own farm 994 Acquired own business . . 2.579 These figures include the major proportion of people discharged and now in employment, and they reveal an outstanding fact that young New Zealand, as a whole, believes in independent action, and wants the opportunity to stand on its own feet. Free enterprise is the spirit of progress, tolerance, and freedom.
