AVONDALE CARD ELLERSLIE MEETING PROSPECTS (Special) Auckland, Sept. 7. For the Avondale Jockey Club's spring fixture, Io be held at Ellerslie to-morrow, there will be in all ten races, the Trial Handicap com>pising three divisions. Fine fields have been accepted for in the Avondale Cup and the Flying Handicap, and it is expected that nine or ten three-year-olds will line up for the Avondale Guineas in which Master Robin, a winner at Trent ham and Riccarton, will take on the best, of lost year’s northern juveniles. There will be no dearth of runners in the Pioneer Handicap, the first two-year-old event in the north, but here, as in other centres, the public will be ir. the dark as regards form. The going is likely tq be on the soft side.
