FINAL TRACK GALLOPS

YESTERDAY’S TRAINING OPERATIONS The inside grass tracks were in good order and the weather was fine yesterday lor the final gallops of horses engaged at the Wanganui spring meeting, which will open to-day and will be concluded next Saturday. One of the early workers was Derryogue, who ran the last three furlongs of half a mile alone in 36 1-5 sec. The Stratford lightweight, M. Martinovich, will ride her in the Flying Handicap. Royal Heir, with his trainer, I. Tinsley, in the saddle, ran five furlongs in 1.3 2-5. He moved freely and was doing his work well within* himself at the finish. J. Campbell rides him in the Flying Handicap. Roto Parera and Magnus Lux ran six furlongs in 1.16 3-5. They broke 37 for the last three furlongs and coin were doing their work solidly, especially Roto Parera who had the outside running. Royal Greek and Treasure Tee were together at the end of live furlongs in 1.3, the last half mile in 51. Royal Greek worked soundly. He will be ridden by W. Connor. The jumper Rhodes finished in front of Hulabaloo and Well Armed at the end of six furlongs in 1.19. Hulabaloo worked well and looks in good order. Master Jed, who is in forwaid condition, came home the last three furlongs of his work in 391 and Lily Ann beat her stablemate, Viva Je Vera, by a length at. the end of three furlongs in 38. Lady Nahleen also came home three furlongs, but was not. timed. She will be ridden in the Flying Handicap by the stable apprentice, J. Eaton.

The Trentham hack White Cap was much too good for the maiden Rothnic whom she beat, by six lengths al the end of half a mile in 50 4-5, one of the best half miles of the morning. Battle Survey, a good mover, ran half a mile alone in 51 2-5 and Poutatau took 52 for the same distance. Sporting Way ran the last three furlongs of half a mile in 39 1-5. He has done well since winning at the Hawke’s Bay Hunt meeting last month. JUVENILES GALLOP Enard Bay, a Phaleron Bay two-year-old engaged in the Debutant Stakes, ridden by her trainer, Miss R. Jackson, showed a nice turn of speed to run two furlongs in 24 4-5. The two-year-olds Blue Tie and Julius Caesar were to have galloped three furlongs but their riders misjudged the pace and they took 41 2-5. Both could have done better. Julius Caesar is a neat colt by Beaulivre from the Lackham mare Lackalady. Royal Baron, a half-brother to Master Baron, galloped well to shade Rosswood over three furlongs in 39. Opulent, a Legatee two-year-old from Hastings, put in some good work to finish on terms with Blue Moon at the end of three furlongs in 38. This was as good as any of the two-year-old work. The Monarch had the edge on Blue Title at the end of seven furlongs, the last six taking 1.19 and the last three in 40. Montosorrie and High Order finished on well to run the Jpst two furlongs of their half mile in 25. The Beau Pere—Zarisee horse Tara King, raced by Mr. ,P. A. O’Neill, vicepresident of the club, in partnership with Mr. T. J. O’Neill, was lame after a round of pacework and is stated to be an unlikely starter in the Flying Handicap. Another unlikely starter is Grey Salute, owned by Mr. W. S. Goosman, M.P. for Waikato. Grey Salute struck himself at New Plymouth last. Saturday and has a tilling on a joint
