PORK STILL OFF”
BIGGER BRITISH DEMAND There are no indications, at present as to how long the restriction on the marketing of pork in New Zealand will survive. The present, order in this respect expires at the end of October. Any relaxation in control will depend to some ex.ent on the demands from Great Britain. Most of her pork imports have come from the Uniter’ States of America for the last few years but these have now been severelv curtailed and it is likely that New Zealand will be asked io provide some of the demand thereby created. It is expected that by the end of October the Government Departments most closely concerned with the question will have some decision to announce as to the possibilities of releasing po’k for local consumption.
