Pilot-Officer M. A. Nagel, son of Mr. H. C. Nagel, Wanganui, is reported as missing on air operations, according to an Air Force casualty list issued last night. Mr. M. G. Bignell was elected chairman and Mr. G. N. Boulton vice-chair-man of the Wanganui Boy Scouts' Association at the annual meeting this week. Mr. C. L. Duigan was elected patron, and Mr. W. E. Mikkelson, president, at th? annual meeting of the Wanganui Cage Bird Club held recently. The Hou. W. H. Mclntyre, M.L.C., who has been chairman of the Nelson Education Board for 15 years,- has been unanimously re-elected chairman. Mr. W. A. Martin, New Zealand manager for the National Mutual Life Association of Australasia, returned from Australia by flying-boat on Tuesday. Mr. J. J. Maher, Mungaroa, has been elected chairman of the provision;, i committee of the Federation of Town Milk Producers formed as the result of a conference in WelI lington attended by Nelson, Auckland, Hamilton. Willington, Christchurch and Dunedin delegates. Mr. C. J. Strongman, superintendent of State mines, who was formerly chairman of the Coal Council, has resigned his position. He was replaced by Mr. John Dowgray (Granily), who has now been replaced by I Mr. Job Hughes, inspector of mines, Dunedin.
