TAIHAPE SALE The N.Z. Farmers' Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd., report a yarding of 1750 sheep and 400 head of cattle at their usual fortnightly Taihape sale on Wednesday. Prices were not quite so high as our sheep fair held two weeks previously, but there was a steady demand right throughout. We quote:—s-year ewes. r.w. S.D. rams, 13s 3d; 4-year ditto, 26s lOd; best ewe lambs. 22s Id to 23s 6d; good medium ditto, 19s to 20s; smaller sorts, to 16s; good wether lambs, 17s Id to 18s Id; medium, 13s 8d to 13s lOd; forward b.f. lambs. 16s 9d to 17s 2d; smaller sorts, to 13s 6d; fat wethers, 29s to 29s 2d; P.A. cows, r.w. bull, £6 16s; good P.A. weaner steers, £5 9s;. smaller sorts, £3 6s to £4 10s; P.A. weaner heifers, £3 18s; smaller sorts, £2 12s 6d; 21-vear steers, to £9; smaller sorts, to £7 10s. MANGAWEKA SALE A total of 1100 sheep and 60 head of cattle came forward to the Mangaweka sate on Thursday and prices were more or less on a par with Taihape sale the day before. Good ewe lambs made from 22s to 22s 6d; wether lambs, 16s to 16s 6d; extra prime wethers, 32s 4d; forward ditto, 27s to 27s 7d; fattening ewes, 13s; 20-month Hereford steers, £7 12s; 20-month heifers (Hereford), £5.
