MASTER OF FREIGHT SHIP KILLED

Reed. Lt) p.m. Washington, May 28. The Navy Department announced that Capt.ai',l Karl Larsen, master of the freighter Thomas J. Walsh, was killed on Anil 19 in a South Pacific port aft 4 r an exchange of shots with a naval gun crew aboard the shin. The Navy Department added that it became necessary to confine Captain Larsen to his quarters with four armed guards outside. Larsen left his quarters and fired a revolver at the guards, wounding c/ne. The guards returned the fire, killing Larsen.
