ANZAC DAY AT TAIHAPE
(0.C.) Taihape, April 22. An appeal to all returned soldiers in Taihape and district to attend the Dawn Parade on Tuesday (Anzac Day) was voiced at the annual meeting of the Taihape R.S.A. by the president, Mr. H. Jonnston. By so doing they .would makb the parade a real and solemn function. Mr. Johnston suggested that members fall in at the Town Hall 15 minutes before the first light to march to the Cenotaph, where the parade would be called to attention at the first light. A minute’s silence would be observed, followed by a 25 minutes’ service, conducted by the Rev. W. M. Smallfield, and the sounding of the Last Post and Reveille. Refreshments would be served at the Town Hall. A civic service will be held at the Town Hall commencing at 2.30 p.m. on Anzac Day, and the Mayor, Mr. E. Loader, hopes that returned men will attend in large numbers. He extended through the Press an invitation to the various organisations such as the W.W.S.A. and the Red Cross Society to attend in uniform as a body. The R.S.A. decided that returned men attend as a unit.
