N.Z. WILLING THAT THEY BE ALLOWED REPORTED STATEMENT BY MR. FRASER Recd. 7 p.m. Washington, April 21. The chairman of the United States Foreign Relations Committee, Senator T. Connally, disclosed that the Prime Minister of New Zealand, Mr. Fraser, told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that New Zealand was willing that the United States should have military and naval bases in the South and South-west Pacify after the war. Mr. Connally declined to say which places were specifically mentioned, but said the Marshall and Caroline Islands were included in the discussions. Mr. Fraser denied that the Canlurra Pact was aimed at the United States. Mr. Connally added that Mr. Fraser made a very interesting and helpful statement.
