NEUTRALS MAKE USE OF ALLIED PIANES London. April 21. Some neutrals have built up air forces with Allied planes which made forced landings in their territory, says the Daily Mail’s aviation correspondent. Spain is using a number of Flying Fortresses and other planes. Sweden even planned to open an airline to Britain with converted Liberators. Eire’s air force is now flying Spitfires. Hurricanes and Fleet Air Arm Martlets and Hudsons, while there has hardly been a time since the early days of the war when converted Allied planes were not seen on Lisbon’s main airport.
