The WANGANUI-RANGITIKEI ELECTRICPOWER BOARD. Restrictions on the Use of Electricity for Lighting and Heating Consumers are notified that the restrictions on the use of electric power provided for.in the Electricity Control Order, 1943. arc still in force, and must be complied with. This eontrol order provides the following: - PART IL—SPACE-HEATING. 5. This Part of this Order shall apply to all premises of any of the following classes:— (a) Shops, offices, factories, warehouses,, and other business * premises: (b) Public and private hotels: (c) Halls, theatres, and other places of’amusement: (di Premises occupied by any of His, Majesty’s .naval, military’, or air forces, or by’ any other armed force that is for the time being lawfully present in New Zealand. (e) Premises occupied by any Government Department or office. Provided that this Part of this Order shall not apply to any hospital. 6. During the months of May, June, July. August, and September In any year no person shall, in any premises to which this Part of this Order applies, use or cause to be used any electric radiator or other electric space-heating appliance or equipment at any time between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. on any day of the .week except Sunday. PART lII.—LIGHTING. 7. (1) Except as provided in this clause, no person shall at any time of the day or night use or cause to be used electricity from any public supply of electricity to operate any appliance'or equipment for: (a> Exterior sign lighting: (b) Interior sign lighting other than utility sign lighting: (c) Interior or exterior outline or ornamental lighting: (d) Floodlighting any exterior part of any building: (e) Under-verandah lighting other thqn community lighting: (f) Community lighting, except on the statutory late night during the period between half an hour after sunset and 9 p.m.: (g) Shop-window lighting either in excess of an average of 10 watte for each foot of window frontage or outside the period between half an hour after sunset and 9 p.m. on any day: (h) The interior lighting of island or wall or counter show-cases: (i) The interior lighting of any theatre, concert-hall, dance-hall, cabaret, skating-rink, public or private hotel lounge, or hotel bar in excess of 60 watts for each 100 square feet of flo'or area in any case where the lighting appliance or equipment was in operation before the commencement of this Order, or in excess of 40 watts for each 100 square feet of floor area in any other case: (j) The interior lighting of any shop, milk-bar.. restaurant,. or dining-room in excess of 100 watts for each 100 square feet of floor area. (2) Nothing in subclause (1) of this clause shall apply to the use of electricity for—fa) The provision of such lighting as may be required for safety at any entrance or exit to any premises: (bl Under-verandah lighting (other than sign lighting) at theatres, concert-halls, dance-halls, or cabarets during the hours of darkness for the period of thirty minutes immediately before and the period, of fifteen minutes immediately after any programme of entertainment.
