“FRIENDLY” ANTI-AIRCRAFT CAUSES LOSSES
Recd. 10 p.m. Washington, April 19. | Replying to a report that the 'Army lost 21 planes and nearly 400 men on I August 14. the War Department said! American air forces lost 10 transit planes and 44 officers and men in a < paratroop operation during the! Catania battle in Sicily on the night of i July 13-14. It *was estimated that 50 ?er cent, of the loss was caused by riendly anti-aircraft fire.
