PARAMUSHIRU BOMBED
Recd. 2 p.m. Washington, March 8. American bombers have again raided Paramushiru, in the Kurile Islands. A Pacific Fleet communique says:— “Navy search Venturas on Sunday evening bombed Paramushiru, encountering heavy ack-ack fire in some areas. All our planes returned. “Army Liberators, Mitchells, Dauntlesses, Warhawks, Navy Venturas and Hellcats on Monday dropped 31 tons of bombs on four enemy positions in the eastern Marshalls, hitting airfields and starting fires. Several of our planes were damaged by ack-ack fire, but all retuned.
