REGENT THEATRE.
The double-feature programme screening at the Regent Theatre comprises “Riders of Black River” and “Footlight Glamour,” Charles Starrett is the star of “Riders of Black River,” and he is supported by Iris Meredith, Dick Curtis, Stanley Brown, Bob Nolan and Edmund Cobb. The story is that of a former Texas Ranger who returns to his home to learn that rustlers are terrorising the neighbourhood. He plans to marry the sister of a young rancher who is dominated by the rustler chieftain. The Texas Ranger's brother, who is sheriff, is murdered bv the rustlers’ band. How the tangle is unravelled after blame for the murder has been placed on the girl’s brother is thrillingly unfolded. “Footlight Glamour,” as the title implies, is a story of the stage, full mirth a/.a melody. DUCHESS THEATRE. Will Hay, favourite comedian, provides plenty lot laughs in “The Goose Steps Out," screening to-night at Ute Duchess Theatre. In a film depicting the outwitting of the Gestapo, he ts supported by Frank Anne Firth and Peter Croft.
