VALUES AT W’ESTFIELD. (P.A.) Auckland, March 9. Ox, penned in less than average, numbers, sold to a steady demand at late quotations at Westfield yesterday. Cow and heifer beef was penned in small numbers and sold readily, values being very firm. Extra choice ox made up to £2 per 1001 b., choice and prime £1 17s to £1 19s; secondary and plain. £1 13s to £1 16s. Extra prime young cow and heifer beef made from £1 12s to £1 14s; choice and prime. £1 8s to £1 11s. Ordinary coav beef made £1 4s to £1 7s. Extra heavy prime steers sold at £l5 2s 6d to £l6; heavy, £l4 to £l5; lighter, £l2 10s to £l3 17s; light, £lO to £l2 7s 6d; small and unfinished. £7 to £9 15s. Extra heavy prime cows and heifers made from £lO 10s to £l2 15s; heavy, £9 5s to £lO 7s 6d; lighter, £8 to £9 2s 6d; light. £6 10s to £7 17s 6d; small and unfinished, £3 to £6 ss. Sheep were penned in less than average numbers and sold to steady competition at late values. Extra heavy prime wethers made from £1 12s to £1 13s; heavy, £1 10s to £1 Ils 9d; medium. £1 7s to £1 9s 9d; light and prime, £1 4s 6d to £1 6s 9d; plain and unfinished, £1 Is to £1 4s . 3d. Extra heavy prime young and maiden ewes made £1 2s 3d to £1 4s 6d: heavy, £1 to £1 2s; lighter. 16s to 19s 6d; plain and aged, 13s to 15s 9d; others 7s to 12s. Lambs in average numbers sold reading at late quotations. Heavy prime lambs made from £l9s to £llos, medium, £1 7s to £1 8s 6d; lighter, £1 4s to £1 6s 9d; light. £1 to £1 3s 6d; small and nlain, 18s to 19s 9d; others. 10s to 14s 9d. An average yarding of calves came forward and values in all classes were easier, although there was a firm demand for prime good-quality calves. No heavy prime runners were penned. Medium runners sold at £7 Is: heaw vealers. £4 15s to £5 18s; medium, £3 10s to £4 10s; light. £2 to £3 ss: small, £1 to £1 18s unfinished and bucketfed. 16s to £1 ss; bobby and rough. 5s to 17s.

Heavy prime baconers brought £4 10s to £4 18s; medium. £4 3s to £4 8s; light. £3 14s to £3 19s. Heavy porkers made £2 16s to £3 6s; medium. £2 9s to £2 14s; light. £2 3s to £2 8s; small and unfinished. £1 18s to £2: stores. £1 12s to £2 6s; slips £1 to £1 8s: weaners, 10s to 16s.
