RUSSIA AND POLAND
U.S. DIPLOMACY HELPS RELATIONS Recd. 9 p.m. Washington, Jan. 4. Mr. Cordell Hull, at his Press conference, indicated that the United States will make an effort to bring Poland and Russia together diplomatically, and thus prevent any flareup now that the Red Army has crossed the Polish frontier. When asked about President Mikolajczyk’s visit, Mr. Hull replied that the purpose could he inferred from the situation in Europe, and added: “The United States Government has given very careful attention to all such matters when practical and feasible. All such studios arc made in the friendliest spirit.”
