DUNTROON GRADUATE

LIEUT. HOWARD L. JONES. Included in the list of New Zealand cadets who recently graduated from the Koval Military College. Duntroon. Australia, with the rank of lieutenant were Howard L. Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Jones, College Street. Wanganui, and Colin Boyce, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Boyce. Waverley. A coincidence is that the lather of each of the graduates served in the last war and is on the New Zealand Temporarv Staff. Mr. Jones had special leave to attend the graduation ceremony on December 14, but by an unfortunate delay did not reach Australia until the 16th. A newsreel was taken of the ceremony, however, and no doubt the parents will be able to see It ac some future date. Lieutenant Jones is an old boy ot the Wanganui Collegiate School where he was a member ot the school first tilte"n for three years, being captain in his last vSar He was a member of the - iiool first rowing four. He was one of eight New Zealand cadets chosen tn 1941 for training as officers in the New Zealand Staff Corps. At Duntroon he was a member of the first Rugby fifteen. Lieutenant Boyce, who was educated at Hawera, was also selected to go to Duntroon in 1941. One of his brothers is in the Royal New Zealand Air Force and another is in the mercantile marine.
