AGAINST U-BOATS
SUCCESSFUL ALLIED OPERATIONS Recd. 11 p.m. Washington, Nov. 21. Between May 1 and October 30 the Allies sank 150 U-boats, said RearAdmiral Low, Assistant Chief of Naval Anti-Submarine Operations, in a 'broadcast. Allied shipping losses in the Atlantic in the same period remained less than one-half of 1 per cent. Germany still has hundreds of submarines, but the damage they inflicted on shipping does not justify their existence, said Admiral Low. The Associated Press quotes Admiral Low as saying that the United States Navy is taking counter-mea-sures against the German acoustic torpedo. _______________
