CENTURY TO HARTGILL A century scored by J. C. Hartgill, captain of the Wanganui Collegiate Schoo] first eleven, was the highlight of senior cricket in Wanganui on Saturday afternoon, when the championship series was advanced a further stage. In a score of 101 not out he hit 16 fours. Hartgill gave an impressive display and was one of the opening batsmen. He made his runs in about two hours. , Results were:—
Collegiate A, 203 for eight (J. C. Hartgill, not out, 101, C. M. Graham 26, R. B. 'M. Baldwin 24), beat Technical Old Boys 177 (S. Nimmo 35, G. Powell 29, J. Blick 26, R. Mete King! 23). Bowling: P. Gaddum four for 38, G. Powell three for 56, and R. Mete King! two for 29. Wanganui 130 (H. B. Cave 45, R. P. Jans 23, G. H. Newson 19) beat Collegiate B 57 (W. H. Greer 18. Bowling: R. P. Jans took four for 5, and H. B. Cave four for 7. Marist 103 (W. J. Stephenson 34? beat Technical College 95 (J. Stewart 38). Bowling: J. Felts took five for 34, E. Neale two for 11, S. Crafar three for 12; K. Warrilow five for 36. and J. Stewart tij-ee for 56.
